With respect to our discovery-point person - Andy - in the neighborhoods of Armenia, Florida, and Waters....I made a return visit to China Yuan. And found more exciting offerings on the menu...and some insight from the owner. Had the sizzling pork chop for the second time... hacked-up pork with bones in, deep-fried, and coated with red, spicy glaze. Began an exploration of the soup offerings - large hot pot portions servced with individual bowls, easily enough for a table of 6 with second helpings. We tried cream corn chicken chowder - excellent. At the urging of the owner, we tried the won-ton - not your usual wonton - generous-sized wonton noodles stuffed with shrimp in a broth made of chicken and shrimp stock to give a extra ooomph! and body. The noodles are from a "special" noodle factory in New York and he serves the soup so the underlying noodles (sphagetti-type) below the won-ton are crunchy. Great contrast of flavor and texture in the whole package. And we couldn't pass appetizer portions of the roast duck and slice bbq pork. Super.
Again small place of about 12 tables with informal service - in small, horseshaped strip center, on west of Armenia just north of Waters. Same center as the Peruvian, karaoke bar/restaurant. Winesmoke
