Restaurants in Midtown: Hidden Gems

Hello,

Just feeling generous, so I thought I share some of my picks: Would love to hear about your hidden gems.

Italian Restaurants:

I have recently discovered couple of great Italian restaurants:

Roberto Passon on 9th Avenue at 50th street (west side of the street). Honestly, the best Pasta I have had so far. I have been back to it about 6 to 8 times in the last six months. Extremely reasonable prices, good vine list and serivce is great.

Bocca di Bacco
9th Avenue between 54 and 55th, on the east side of the street. Although, I have been there only couple of times, but I have always been happy with the food and atmosphere. Incidentally, they are both owned by the same company. However, the feel and the menu is quite different.

Middle Eastern (Iraqi Cuisine)
La Kabbr
9th Avenue between 47th and 48th

Just a great bargain, all around. Great food, prices and service.

Swiss / Austrian

First of all, they have a great garden and with an Apple Tree in the middle of it. It used to be Luxia, which I loved. Mont blanc used to be at a different location and I thought it was a bit pricey for what it was.

Now that Maria has taken over this restaurant, she has mixed up the menu and lowered the prices, so now I think it is a great bargain. Especially, there bar menu. By the way, the do have a great bar, too, with a bar tender that has a heavy hand (just the kind of a bar tender I like my scotch to be poured by)

Oh well, I hope to hear about your gems

Regards,

Dorian
