Sorry guys, in one of those posting moods.
Thai Tavern - Another small restaurant back in the corner of a strip mall at the corner of Georgia Ave and Norbeck Road. The dining room is small but pretty. The food is well prepared. I like the chicken galanga (dp?)soup with coconut milk. The crispy boneless duck with basel is also very good. While not a destination restaurant, it is near my house and I have never been dissatisfied with my meal.
House of Gyro - In the same area (there two small centers here) this place is nothing fancy. The gyros are good, and the Kabobs quite good, especially the chicken. Nothing special at all if you dine in (most of the business is carry out and well worth it) Relatively inexpensive but good Greek food. I often call in an order on my way home from work and pick it up.
Nancy's Kitchen - In Leasure World Plaza. This is a good place to go for breakfast or lunch. Not at all fancy but the service is fast and it is not at all expensive. Been around for a long time with a loyal following from Leasure World.
Crisp and Juicy - Peruvian chicken. One of the origonal rotissary chicken places. The chicken is spicy and very good. Sides include rice and beans, fried yucca, and occasionally sweet potato chips. They also have meals of Peruvian sausage as well as chicken. Mostly carryout.
Joy Luck Cafe - In the Plaza. The most recent iteration of Chinese in this place. It is nothing to write home about. They have an inexpensive lunch buffet, but I go to Wheaten for Chinese food instead.
