restaurants that do one thing and only one thing great

Since I have nothing to do these days (lucky me), I make a goal at lunchtime to try a new restaurant and most often I am by myself. Many times I feel overwhelmed when I arrive in my lonesome with the many items on the menu that sound so great. I find that the chowhound threads sometimes don't help when there is debate over what is and isn't good. This leaves me feeling unfulffilled with my experience. Whether I loved it or didn't I always leave worried that I ordered the wrong thing. I guess what my question would be is, would someone help me out with some restaurants that do one thing and only one thing great so that I leave satisfied?

I realise that this question may in itself lead to some debate, but hey, its worth a shot.

I live on the westside, but I love to drive.
