Making an annual NYE trip this year and looking to spare no gastronomical expense this time around...last year was a cheap eats tour of the city. On past visits, we've eaten at Commander's, the old establishments in the Quarter (Galatoire's, Antoine's, etc.), the Emeril places (meh), Cochon, and some others...
So, I'm interested to know what were folks' favorite dining experiences in the past year? Any new restaurants worth checking out, or old standbys that have improved chefs/menus? Since restaurants have ups and downs, I can't always trust the bulk of reviews on Yelp as many are outdated.
That said, these are the places we're considering...any thoughts?
- Stella! [CH readers seem to pan this place and say it's too stuffy...stuffy is ok with me provided I walk out impressed with the meal]
- Coquette (better for lunch or dinner?)
- Rue 127
- Dominique’s on Magazine
- Dante’s Kitchen (if only for the bloody mary's at brunch)
- Louisiana Bistro
- Restaurant August (also said to be overrated by some CH-ers)
Can't wait to hear everyone's responses!!
