I am trying to plan a wedding fro 140-160 people for Oct/Nov 2012 in Toronto. I am wanting something relatively easy to plan and love the idea of having the ceremony and reception at a restaurant so that we don't have to bring in tables/cutlery/decor etc.
Having good food is very important. The ultimate dream is to do some of the meal with family-style dishes in addition to a plated meal (ie. maybe some shared sides with the individual plated main).
Love the idea of something rustic and/or cozy but that isn't a must.
I've seen the Victor Restaurant at the Le Germain and loved it I don't think it's feasible to get our numbers down to the required 110ppl. Other spots that looked interesting included the Boiler House and the Gardiner Museum but not quite as taken as with the Victor.
I think I've looked at almost all of the previous suggestions on Chowhound and haven't been able to come up with anything else. Basically, I'm hoping that someone knows of something like the Victor but for more people.
