I just returned to NYC from a great week in the Pacific Northwest. The first night in Vancouver we had the chef's tasting at C restaurant. While I can't say the food was the most delicious food I've ever had, it was certainly some of the most inventive and yes, tasty. We also ordered the wine pairings and overall, this was a really great dining experience. I don't think too many chefs in NYC are doing what Robert Clark is up to. First course was an oyster with ponzu jelly and cucumber. Other courses included sable (also a fish I don't see much down here), halibut, and smoked salmon.
We were there late so it was sort of quiet. We had a nice table overlooking the deck. And our waiter also serves as the sommelier and he was very knowledgable and pleasant.
