I just discovered this message board and, since I live in Staten Island, went scanning for posts related specifically to this borough. Back in November "Sukie" brought up the subject of the "best restaurant in Staten Island." Admittedly the pickings are slim here, but I've never been disappointed by Adobe Blues (Mexican-Southwestern style). Not a huge menu, but everything is well-prepared with more emphasis on authenticity than your average Tex-Mex joint. It's where I bring visitors to show them that Staten Island is not the culinary and cultural wasteland they've been led to believe! It's an oasis in a somewhat dicey area on Lafayette St. just off Richmond Terrace. Not sure if the neighborhood is New Brighton or West New Brighton - not being a native I can never keep the neighborhoods or their boundary lines straight.
