My family and I (4 adults) will be visiting Mexico City from December 25-January 1st of this year. We are very excited to visit such a culturally rich city and we cannot wait to explore. First and foremost, we are foodies! We are most excited about tasting our way through Mexico City, however I have heard that many of the best spots are closed during this season. If any one has any insider info on who will and will not be open during this time, it will be much appreciated. I would also love to know if anything is open for a good dinner on New Years Eve. I have emailed many of the restaurants that we are interested in and am awaiting their reply. I have read many of the posts in regards to restaurant recommendations and truly appreciate all the advice. Some of the restaurants we are hoping to try are:
Pujol - dinner
Quintonil - lunch or dinner
Maximo Bistrot - dinner
Merotoro - dinner
Fonda Fina - dinner
Pasillo de Humo - lunch or dinner
El Cardenal - breakfast
Contramar - lunch
LALO - breaskfast
Azul Historico - Lunch or dinner
Biko - dinner
Will the Bazar Sabado be open on December 30th? Any great spots for chorros? Churreria El Moro perhaps?
We are open to other recommendations and nice bars to visit as well.
We don't really have a set itinerary yet, but we are interested in exploring Chapultepec park, Zocalo, shopping in Polanco, Mercado de la Merced, Museo Nacional de Antropologia, and visiting piramides de teotihuacan. Does anyone recommend going to Teotihuacan with a guide? If so, any specific recommendations for a fun tour guide?
Thanks so much!
P.S. - Thank you Cristina for your posts, they have been most helpful!
