Restaurant review - BBQ at Pig Floyd's made family happy, twice

Ineverwrit | Mar 30, 201605:35 AM     1

So good we had to go back. Though we are doomed to vacations in Orlando with family members with very different needs/tastes, every now and then we find a place that everyone is happy with. Pig Floyd's was one of those places. We visited twice in December, 2015.

It is fast, casual dining. This is fusion BBQ, so don't go here if our are a purist. The sandwiches are served on coconut, pineapple rolls (think Hawaiian rolls with coconut flavor). I went for the Plain Jane Barbakoa with pulled pork and apple-fennel slaw both times, because it was so good the first time, and it did not disappoint the second. Dad had The Big Floyd, but found it a bit too much of the kitchen sink (brisket, pulled pork, AND sausage). The Plain Jane was much more to his tastes the second time around. Sauces on the side made sure every was happy with their choices. Small but serviceable drink menu, including several craft beers, kept everyone hydrated.

The service was warm, friendly and efficient.

The order-at-the-counter-then-take-a-seat process is a bit hard on my mother, who uses a walker. The second time in, we dared to sit before we ordered, and didn't have any issues.

For those who need to know, the bathroom was easily accessible and roomy with a walker.

Can't wait to go back! I rarely say that about any place in Orlando.
