Last night we stumbled upon a great new (open for one week)restaurant in Red Hook called Pit Stop. It's at 127 Columbia St. They have a large and romantic back yard with sand areas for Petanque. They have a bunch of really interesting and well thought out salads (not the usual mesclun which I am so tired of)along with a kind of French Bistro menu. I got the special-- sauteed soft shell crab with asparagus, mashed potatoes and a tasy orange sauce on top of the crab. My only caveat was that the soft shell crab, though very tasty was kind of small for a main course and two would of been more filling.
