Hello, Hounds. I am travelling from Cleveland to the Richmond area on 11/19-11/21 to go to the Dave Matthews Band concert in Charlottesville on 11/20. As the majority of the hotels in Charlottesville were booked (and those that weren't were charging exorbitant prices for mediocre lodgings) I decided to book a hotel west of Richmond instead.
I'm looking for a good restaurant to take my girlfriend to on Friday evening, 11/19, for a romantic dinner. Price is not an issue. She does not eat red meat or pork (but she loves bacon - who doesn't?), but will eat chicken, shrimp, pasta dishes, and salads. I do not discriminate when it comes to food at all. I wouldn't mind eating somewhere that's a Richmond staple, or has some sort of signature dish that I won't be able to find back home.
I've done a bit of research on this site and others, and have decided that we would go to 821 Bakery Cafe for breakfast on Saturday morning, and Millie's for brunch on Sunday morning. Saturday will be spent checking out various sights in Richmond, before driving to Charlottesville for the show. And we will be heading back to Ohio after we eat on Sunday morning.
So, what say you, hounds? Any good recs for Friday evening? Are my breakfast choices good? Any other places I should try to visit during my short stay? Thanks!
