Not a restaurant rec but if you're ever in Tallahassee

and you have access to a kitchen, go to Mike's Seafood and Oriental (I think that's the name)to buy your seafood. It's on Capital Circle off Apalachee Pkwy. They have the most amazing seafood prices I've ever seen! I bought 8 count (head on) shrimp for-- get this-- $6.99 a pound! And it was fresh off the boats, not frozen. Bought a pint of oysters for $6.99. If you like to shuck your own it's $23 for a whole bushel of Apalachicola oysters. Grouper filets were $8 a pound. Beautiful jumbo lumps of white crabmeat was $14 a pound. Maybe this is doesn't seem like a big deal to you folks who live along the Gulf coast but these prices are 1/2 to 1/3 what we pay in the Triangle, and we can't get that kind of freshness.

In case you're wondering, I have no affiliation to the store. Just spreading the word to my fellow value-conscious hounds.
