If you're ever in town, you should try to get reservations for L'Etoile. (with a bottle of wine, appetizers, entrees and desserts, dinner for two will run you about $125-150) You would easily pay $300 for a similar meal on the East or West coast, and it wouldn't come with the personal attention that L'Etoile's Odessa Piper and staff provide. She uses organic ingredients and concocts nouveau French-Midwestern fusion meals that are absolutely delicious.

Tip: If you like chocolate, definitely check out Chocolate Vesuvius on the dessert menu.

We're leaving Madison in August and one of the things we will miss most are our semi-annual meals at L'Etoile. It's located on the Capitol square, ask for a window view!

(Ed. Note: We will NOT miss the winters.)
