I finally had the right convergence of events to eat at this chowhound favored restaurant: I was hungry and I was nearby.

My meal consisted of the complimentary chips with 3 salsas, Pulpo al ajo and Torta Oxaquena. The chips had not been stored properly, so they were wilted I suspect from humidity. Though I thoroughly enjoyed my Torta, it has been reported frequently enough there is nothing material I can add. However, I found no mention of the Pulpo al ajo.

Pulpo al ajo is Octopus sauteed with garlic and onions on the appetizer menu. The octopus was cooked enough to be heated through but not overcooked to rubber status. The octopus was cooked creamy toothiness in a mixture of red onions, garlic and cilantro on a small shredded lettuce mound. The portion filled a dinner plate, which had I realized the size, I would have skipped the Torta and ordered a side of rice to soak up the accompanying octopus juices.

Not wanting to overindulge, I ate 50% of each selection with the balance going home in the kitty bag. Hee hee!

It took 18 months, but I finally made it!
