Dear Manhattan hounds,
I am on a quest for info and my internet searches have proved fruitless.
In the 1980's I had lunch at an italian restaurant in Manhattan across from Helene's Florist. I am trying to recall the name of the restaurant for a story I am writing. I searched the internet for a listing for Helene's (Thinking I would call them and they could tell me) but there is no listing for them. Perhaps they went out of business.(?)
Helene's was made famous by Richard Estes, a photorealist painter whose New York streetscape paintings actually look like photographs.
Unfortunately, I don't recall where Helene's was (is?).
Can anyone help me? So as not to drift too far off topic I have included my email address for more in depth discussion.
