Every time I cook broccoli there is a white, powdery residue left on the pot afterwards. It comes off with a swipe of the finger but there is another layer that will not come off without some determination and scrubbing. It can be seen as a white foam while boiling.
Anyone know why this is? Is it normal? Is it safe to eat the broccoli?
it is not minerals from my water. This only happens with broccoli. I do not have hard water and there are no other occasions where this kind of residue is left in my pots.
It happened with organic and regular broccoli.
The organic broccoli did not have modified atmospheric packaging. I do not know about the regular.
