Reservations required?

NOLA Hounds, a Phoenix Hound will be first-time visiting next week (Thu-Mon). Staying in CBD at Wyndham Whitney.

Are reservations generally required/recommended for places or no? The only place I've reserved thus far is Commander's Palace brunch on Sunday.

The two of us don't plan any $$$$ dining, just good, casual Southern/NOLA recs I've culled from all your advice on here (fellow PHX Hound BillH too!).

I don't have a problem doing reservations if that's preferred for NOLA dining. We are easy going otherwise; I enjoy a drink at the bar while waiting for a table for two.

Let me know your thoughts. It is very much appreciated.

Likely places on my list:

Acme Oyster House

Borgne

Cafe du Monde

Casamento's

Cochon or Cochon Butcher - lunch or dinner

Coquette (lunch)

Galatoire's

Herbsaint

Mr B's
