Ok, a while back i posted that i was researching the food trucks in university city. I haven't yet eaten at all of them, but i have at least stopped by all of them. I've eaten at about 25 (to my knowledge, there are about 70 but i haven't fully tallied yet). I'm compiling a map.
Anyway, here are my top 3. What do you think?
Crepewalk - Amazing crepes. The owner is so friendly. He knows me very well and instantly knows what I should order. His banana, nutella and cinnamon crepes are godly. 36-37th and Spruce Street.
Yue Kee at 38th and Walnut - Amazing chinese food. I concur with Craig laban's review in the inquirer last month. I particularly enjoy the garlic and green beans/chicken dish. Prices are rockbottom. The appearance of the truck hides the food. As far as I know, longest-running truck: over 25 years.
no-named truck at NE corner of 40th and Market, run by Malik - his tuna hoagies are delicious, and i am a tuna expert (i worked as a hoagie cook for 4 years). There is an art to the tuna hoagie, and this man has it. By the way, a tuna hoagie and drink is only $2.50. Lowest lunch price that i know of!
Any disagreements/comments here?
Still looking for best falafel and the best mexican food. (Long lines would seem to indicate Mexicali is the best, but I used to love the one near 33rd and Walnut - what happened to it?) I also still haven't eaten at the Rib truck at 40th and Powelton, but haven't yet assembled 4 people to pay the $20 for the full meal.
