Reports on local restaurant pricing increases

FelafelBoy | Apr 30, 2008 07:50 PM

I thought it might be interesting to get feedback from Chowhounders on any increases they are witnessing in the cost of meals they buy at restaurants now that prices of gas, rice, wheat, and other materials are increasing.

The first increase I have witnessed has been at a local Indian restaurant (Taste of India in Wayne) that six months ago charged $8.95 for its lunch buffet, with tax about $9.50. As of May, 2008, the same lunch buffet costs $12.65 with tax. (the buffet does not include much food made with wheat and rice ingredients)

It would be interesting to learn of other, if any, increases taking place at pizza places, fast food restaurants, other buffets (serving various kinds of a selection from "American" to Chinese and all inbetween.).
