Nine of us went to Singh's last night after reading previous posts.I called to find out if we needed areservation and they said no. I called again just to make sure because there were 9 of us. When we arrived I realized they must have been laughing at my phone calls. I didn't realize that Singh's was a take out/ eat in/ bar. The atmoshpere was fun and people were friendly. Though it was hard to get a name for things and a good description. We just asked what they thought was good and hoped for the best. The food really was as good as you all said it would be. We had doubles which were really good and pretty spicy. The three hot sauces were great especially the sweet one which has a nice kick at the end. I had conch curry and roti which was savory and garlicky and very good. It comes with curried potatoes and chick peas also very good, mild but flavorful. Others had the duck which we were not so sure was really duck, it was goatish in appearance but everyone enjoyed it. We all shared a red coconut sweet thing for dessert and a donuttish triangle something. With all the warmth and spice of the food we were still looking for sweet so we headed over to Jahn's on Hillside ave. The ice cream was really as good as we remembered from our youths, but the place was empty. 20 years ago Jahn's was packed on a saturday night no matter the season. Anyone who can should go to Jahn's so we don't lose that landmark. You can also play bingo next door at the old theater!
