Brief Report-Papadakis Taverna

First of all, I would like to thank all of those who recommended Papadakis Taverna as a good place for a celebration. It was fantastic!

We went in a large group and had a variety of items. The hot meze platter was great, the shrimp and cheese filo being the group favorite. The warm pita bread was just off the grill and the soups (lentil and lemon rice) were the perfect consistencies. I especially liked the lemon rice soup-different and very refreshing, yet creamy. The dinner salads were large and tasty-my mom ended up finishing off her salad, as well as the rest of my sister's and mine. The entrees for the group varied-lamb dolmathes, saddle of lamb in pastry, mousaka, spanakopitas, grilled salmon, chicken kabobs, grilled lamb, and pastistio (pasta w/lamb). All of the entrees were thoroughly enjoyed. My personal favorite was the mousaka-just the right firmness and sweetness. Yum! We also enjoyed a nice bottle of Greek white wine with dinner-Lac Des Roches-very mild to satisfy our varying tastes (a recommendation by our server). Dessert consisted of a very moist spice cake, fresh baklava that wasn't too sweet or sticky (or stale, as I have found in many Greek restaurants), and vanilla ice cream.

Service was great. Drinks were refilled constantly and the different courses came quickly. We were seated immediately upon our arrival for our 7:30 reservation. One of the owners, John, took our gifts and stored them until later in the evening. Everyone loved the belly dancer, Greek dancing, tap dancer, and singing. Thanks again to all those who recommended Papadakis Taverna. I will definitely be returning!
