4 of us went to Citizen Thai per hound rec last night and had a great time. The food was very good. The service (from the waiter to matire'd to buz boy)was very attentive and friendly. The decor was warm and welcoming. We liked the sister restauarant Koh Samui before and we liked this place even more. The food is about the same but the presentation and the decor is definitely better. Most importantly, you can hear each
other. Very hard to find in SF restaurants these days.
We had 3 appertizers - corn fritters (E&O has better corm fritters), spring roll and the dancing prawns; 4 curries - duck with pineapple (served in half a pineapple) and duck with red sauce (nice seasame finishing taste), pumpkin with chicken (served in a carved pumpkin), 1 pork; 1 fried banana dessert, sticky rice for 4; 2 cocktails, 3 beer and 1 sake for a total of 150 before tax. (As usual, the bar tab is the most expensive part of the meal.)
The only disappointing dish for all of us is the dancing prawns. We all found the prawns to be tasteness even with the chile sauce.
I highly recommend this place for a casual but nice dinner.
