Hungry from Christmas shopping, and seeking respite from the rain we stopped into O Chame on Fourth Street in Berkeley early this evening. While the service was a bit uneven (our server gave me soba noodles though I asked for udon and gave my udon noodles to my friend who asked for soba), and even caused my dinner companion to comment, "We're in Berkeley, NOT Manhattan," I enjoyed my meal. The place has a nice warm glow to it, and the bowl of soba noodle soup with tofu skins, shitake mushrooms and spinach I had was excellent. I also liked the pomegranate spritzer.

All in all, I'd say the place is certainly worth a try.
