We ate at Brunoise which started of spectacularly and then was only very good. The first course of asparagus and mushrooms and another of eggplant and peppers were extraordinary. The halibut and duck were fine, just not remarkable. Petite fours were also very good, but nothing surprising.

We loved Schwartz's for smoked meat sandwiches on seedless (oh no!) rye bread.

The best coffee and croissants were at Brioche Lyonnaise where they no longer make brioche. Had a terrific, but way too fast, in-and-out breakfast at the very hip and exciting L'Avenue du Plateau...check out the bathrooms... An all right salad at La Petite Ardoise, but I would give them another chance, another time. Their specials were more promising.

Lovely and entirely wonderful evening at Le Petite Extra on Rue Ontario. Totally European and vibrant. The food and warmth of the room pervades the dinner. This was by far the best dining experience we had and a total pleasure.
In general loved Montreal and the cheese bagels at an unknown bakery were like eating cheese blintz's made only in heaven for the select few.....
