Repairing Yves "ground chicken" mix

lagatta | Jul 8, 201508:02 PM     10

I never liked their ersatz "ground round", but I did like their "ground chicken" (which tastes nothing like actual chicken) but the texture was strange the last time I bought it (hadn't bought it in a few years). I added it to onions and mushrooms I had sautéed in a small quantity of olive oil, as well as some mild long red pepper. The onions and mushrooms weren't gloppy in the slightest; I had carefully cooked down all excess liquid.

But the mixture seems gloppy, and I don't want to throw it out. I was thinking of adding a bit of fine corn flour, or chick pea flour.

Any ideas, or should I just chuck it? I hate wasting food, but putting a tonne of other things in it could be even more of a waste.
