Reno - Heritage restaurant - Mark Estee has another winner!

Within a week of their opening, we went there for my birthday dinner. I was prepared to have some service glitches considering they were so new. Well, THAT didn't happen. The space, the service and the food was absolutely spot on.

In no particular order, we had the Dungeness Crab & SCallop Crudo with with tobiko ($12). I could have easily NOT shared. Hey, it was MY birthday :) Also The Double Down - foie gras, brioche, maple syrup ($18). We had a special that was sweetbreads in a fun way. They had been divided into the little small pieces that they would naturally separate. Pardon the sacrilege, but they were almost like popcorn shrimp. Lightly fried. I don't remember the dipping sauce but a deep, rich tomato one. Our dessert was a caramel flan just the way I like it - shallow so lots of "topping." We also had a bottle of sparkling...and what it was I have no recollection :) But really good.

Dinner with tax and tip was about $100, which I consider a deal for a special dinner out. We'll be back - again and again :)
