Reno - Harrah's - The Carvery buffet --- wouldn't go again at any price

Okay, we all know that, with few exceptions, AYCE buffets are bound to disappoint. The classic quantity over quality. BUT we had a BOGO coupon and enough "points" so dinner for two was $7 out of our pockets. At even that, we overpaid :(

They had smallish peel and eat shrimp that were okay and a little, non-adventurous salad bar that was fine. Also Bob had a little bowl of their soft serve ice cream which was okay and I ate the pecan topping off a little slice of pie. So, okay, I guess we got our $7 worth. You see on their posters around the casino this HUGE slice of prime rib. Well, the good/bad news is that they slice it about 1/4" thick. We could get rare. But just not a speck of flavor and the texture was meh. Some little crab cakes that tasted like nothing til dipped in the cocktail sauce. Some salmon nigiri where the rice and fish had the same old, dried out taste and texture. I don't need to say any more, do I? And the going price is $23/person with a $3 supplement for snow crab. I'm just writing this for the visitor to Reno, esp. if staying at Harrah's or the vicinity. For $23, you can get tapas for two and a bottle of wine at the Santa Fe Hotel right next door. I would highly discourage anyone from going to this buffet. Thanks for listening; I feel better :)
