Removal of Messages

RachaelLK | Jan 13, 2003 02:22 PM

Has anyone noticed that there are some messages that have been "disappearing" off the board not long after being posted? It has happened to me twice, both times during volitile conversations (the Ethiopian/Hawaiian debate). At first I thought It was my computer, or I'd submitted them incorrectly, but....I noticed that a response to Fritz's most recent refusal to divulge the name of the restaurant in "The look of the Waitress" was there earlier and is now missing. I don't think I'm going crazy! Is this blatant censorship (if so, why? My comments were often in response to personal attacks that were allowed to remain, and were by no means more scalding than ones directed at me) or is the system so insecure that someone has figured out how to remove postings that they don't like? I did read the "READ THIS BEFORE YOU POST" and know that there are worthwhile regulations, but I belive that if the powers that be want to abide by these said rules, they should do so even-handedly, and not play favorites.

On one last note, the current "missing posting" said only something along the lines of "Gee, thanks Fritz."

Not too uncivil, methinks.
