Remix drop-cookie dough with new dough to fix texture?

Can I thaw an amount of drop-cookie dough, to incorporate a fresh batch in order to fix a texture problem, or will it just overwork the original dough?

I made a ton of drop cookie dough (chocolate chip bacon, with some bacon grease substituted, adapted from Alton Brown's 'Chewy') and after several dozens have been made, I have 30 cookies' worth left over in the freezer.

I figured one of the common fixes would work, and I could just make a batch, but didn't know if this would become tough like a rolled dough.
