I believe there were 2 Smoky's sites, one in Chelsea at 24th and Ninth Avenue and another on the upper West Side. I remember in the 1970'2 and early 1980's,joyfully wolfing down, very large pulled-pork sandwiches and BBQ beef sandwiches like they were hors d'oeuvres, great pies too. I don't know what happened to the places. They seemed to be owned by some large Jewish man, who was very hands-on. He frequently came to the tables to make sure everything was OK. I sure miss that place.
