My best friend LOVED My Pie. I don't really remember it that well, but he raved about it. According to him, there is nothing like it and never will be.

Personally, my favorite was Perry's Pizza in Dinkeytown, not to be confused with the current Perry's Pizza on Washington or University.

Oh, Perry's! - 2 slices and a drink for $3 - LONG ago. I met my friend there every Tuesday for lunch. When the lunch combo went up to $3.50 we were horrified at the "gouging."

My Pie and Perry's. Very popular when I was in high school and college. Taking me back, man. Loved those large, thick squares of Sicilian style pizza at Perry's.

lifecomm Perry's was the bomb back in the late 70s. But nothing beat Shakey's Pizza on Washington at the U.

My parents loved My Pie, unfortunately I never had the chance to try it. Our family loves going to Pezzo Pizzeria in White Bear Lake. About 40-45 minute drive from the cities but we think it's worth it!

            1. Latinpig You can still get My Pie in Chicago. There is nothing really like it here. Giordanos for deep dish is not bad choice.

It was called MY π and it had the very best deep dish Chicago style pizza. I went there every week from the day it opened until it closed. Shakey's Pizza couldn't hold a candle to MY π. Those who praise Shakey's on this thread probably think McDonald's is superior to In-N-Out burgers in California. LOL!

                1. MplsM ary re: DCBobby The spinach and garlic pie was the stuff of ooey gooey cheesy dreams. A small pie weighed a ton. I miss it too.

BobSch Talk about bringing back memories... I worked East on Hwy 12 and hit My Pi at least once a week until it closed.
