Does anyone remember Marini's Empanada House in Montrose (the Chowhound past, c. 1977)?
As an ex-Houstonian who comes back to visit occasionally and visits more often now through chowhound, I have fond memories of Marini's as a chowhound youth (pup?). (If I didn't have a dessert empanada like apple or dulce de leche, we might get to go for ice cream at Udder Delight).
On a visit to Houston (probably in the late 80s), I found another Marini's out on near Sharpstown or somewhere out in that direction that had a similar menu (empanadas fried-style, I think). As I was writing this, I just did a search and found a post from Feb. 2001 that confirmed that the 2nd Marini's does still exist at Hillcroft and Westheimer.
Does anyone know if this is one is related to the original?
Thanks and looking forward to my next visit.
