Each dessert was like a work of art. Sometimes if I was in the area after dinner, I'd suggest Trois Jean just for dessert and coffee. They had this pyramid of chocolate thing that was so beautiful and delicious.
Since then I notice that many restaurants charge as much as Trois Jean did for dessert, but don't make anything as memorable. I want to take a friend out for dessert on the Upper East Side. Now that Trois Jean is gone, does anybody have any suggestions? It doesn't have to be as froufrou, but I'd like it to be as good, and preferably a place that also serves in the afternoon.
I go to Payard a lot, and feel like going someplace different.
