Wine 8

We just got back from a truly amazing trip to Spain. We had our special meal at Etxebarri and we were totally blown away. With the exception of some older white Riojas, I have lately been preferring French whites with more refined or sophisticated dishes. We had a bottle of white though from a producer called Remelluri that was really special though. It was certainly bright with nice enough acidity to take us through the many courses of the meal but it also had some real heft to it, I'm wondering if it's because of the Chardonnay? We followed with a glass of red and again, it was complex and most importantly, had none of the slight jaminess I feel I notice in younger Riojas lately.

Anyway, I'm interested in learning more about these wines and I'm looking for a place to taste or buy them here in NYC.
