Regional Thai Cuisine in the Bay Area? -- Khantoke?

Krys | May 18, 2005 02:29 AM

Are there any restaurants in the Bay Area serving Thai cuisine from the Southern or Norhtern regions? Does anyone serve khantoke banquets?

So far I've only been in one restaurant that had those low tables on the floor. Is that common?

I haven't eaten a lot of Thai food. There seem to be a few good Thai restaurants near me.

From my understanding, and correct me if I'm wrong, most (all?) area restaurants focus on the food of Central and Northeast (Isaan), Thailand.

At the restaurant I ate at today, the owner said that the reason for the Central / Northeast connection was because when when there is no work in the Northeast, may Thais of that region seek work in Bangkok.

Anyway, I have bigger issues to ask on the General Board. For this post I am just asking if there are restaurants that serve food of the other regions.
