I bought these variants of Reese's Peanut Butter Cups today at my local 99 cents store (they were nearly out of both of them, so I suspect inventories are low). In any event, I hadn't seen either of these confections before. As far as I can tell, the peanut filling is the same as a normal Reese's but the chocolate is slightly different. Both were smoother than the average Reese's. I quite enjoyed the fudge variant; it had a slight hint of vanilla.
My suspicion is that neither of these will become mainstream products, but worth picking up if you are a Reese's addict.
Incidentally, these peanut butter cups tasted far moister and fresher than what I typically find on store shelves. I wonder if these coatings do a better job of protecting the fragile peanut interior, which is quite susceptible to being dried out?
