Well, we went to the Reef Cafe in Allston last night, and, overall, I liked it a lot. We tried several items:
falafel was excellent--not greasy or heavy
houmos was also excellent--just the right mix of chick peas and oil
grape leaves were good, but a bit salty
moujadara was outstanding--probably my favorite item last night
tabbouli was very good
chicken shawarma was excellent, though just a bit bland
I would definitely go back. Overall, though, I still give the nod to Cafe Barada in North Cambridge for Lebanese and Syrian food, and, especially, Sepal in Watertown. Sepal is probably my favorite Middle Eastern restaurant in the Boston area.
