Red Pepper (cayenne) vs Red Chili Powder

daphatgrant | Oct 22, 201808:38 AM     16

Hello, I've been tiptoeing into cooking Indian dishes, at least what I am able to follow from YouTube. Here's the question, I keep seeing Red Chili Powder being used. Does anyone know if that is the same thing as Red Pepper (cayenne)? If it's not the same I feel like it would be interchangeable but I'm not completely sure. Red Pepper (cayenne) is ground cayenne, Red Chili Powder just says "ground whole red chilis". I stopped at my local grocery store and picked up some Laxmi Red Chili Pepper and wondered if I now have 2 jars of the same stuff in my spice rack? Thanks!
