Recs needed for NY chowhounders in Toronto for a conference

Me (and 5000 other Latin Americanists) will be in Torono in early October for a conference at the Hilton/Sheraton. I am looking for recs for

1) A restaurant for a large group dinner (around 15 people), hopefully walking distance from the hotel or a short cab ride, entrees in the $20s. Canadian food would be nice, but not necessarly. I was looking at Jump. Is that a good option?

2) A fabulous rec for a dinner with a foodie friend. We have reservations at Nota bene, but they don't have anything available before 9:30 m and we would like a bit earlier. Anything along those lines is good, we are hppytotravel but as we won't have a car, would prfer to stay within a 30 minute car ride from the hotel.

3) A placefor breakfast not too far from the hotel- delicious would be better!

4) Recs for a place not to miss while I am in Toronto. I have lunch reservations at Lai Wah Heen. What else shouldI definitively not miss?
