Some family friends are hitting these places in April and I'm the food researcher. They are also going to Nice and Antibes but I think gleaned enough recommendations from here on chow.
They love food but don't think fine dining is what they have in mind, looking for good places with typical cuisine of the area moderate or moderate plus but not $$$$
For Nice I'm recommending to them:
Le Comptoir du Marche
Bar des Oiseaux,
Chez Pipo for “socca”
'If you like oysters' L'Ane Rouge
High Foodie/ $$$$: JAN
Open on Sundays when a lot of places are closed:
Cafe De Turin
Le Figuier de Saint Esprit
