My wife and I are driving up to PDX this weekend for a wedding. We wanted to get a few ideas on places to eat and drink. We're generally looking to keep prices fairly inexpensive to moderate. No Mexican on this trip (long story).
On Friday night we're staying in Ashland and seeing a play. Pilaf sounds like a good choice for a casual meal before the show. Any other thoughts? Also, probably going to just grab a coffee and pastry/bagel to-go before hitting the road in the morning. Any recs?
In Portland, we're staying at the Doubletree Lloyd Center and the wedding is at the Leach Botanical Gardens. We want to get together with a few other guests for a late lunch and a few drinks (good beer, wine, cocktails all acceptable) before the wedding. Any thoughts on places not too far away from the hotel, the gardens, or the route between (see map below).
Finally, we'll be winetasting on Sunday through Newberg and Dundee, ending up in Salem for the last winery and a B&B for the night. Any recs for a spot to pick up high quality picnic food along that route, as well as an inexpensive dinner in Salem?
