I need some ideas for a $10-12 Saturday lunch in a few weeks for about 15 people in Albany, Berkeley or Oakland. Need a place that is not too noisy because many in the group are seniors and want to be able to hear each other. Looking for something that is Mexican, Italian, American or California cuisine. Some ideas we've tossed around:
Picante - near Gilman in Berkeley but afraid it might be too noisy.
Cape Cod -(fish)on Solano - not too interesting
Luka's Taproom- Broadway and 22nd in Oakland - would be good if not too noisy or can get a room.
Bosphorous - Turkish on University & 10th in Berkeley - how big are the booths in the back? Could 15 or so people be able to talk to each other?
Bendean (on Solano)-don't they have their $13 prix fixe all day Sunday? what about Sat?
Zax - Italian on Telegraph in Berkeley -
Gregoire's (on Piedmont at 40th) - can the new Gregoire's hold about 15?
Meal Ticket (on San Pablo at Gilman in Berkeley)- can they hold 15?
Any help would be appreciated. thanks.
