Finally made the drive from Costa Mesa to the Los Angeles Wat Thai temple. We arrived hungry after surviving major traffic on the 5. It was easy to spot the highly recommended "Green Papaya Salad" lady and we joined the long line. My companion and I traded time in line with time crusing the other booths. Eventually we found seats in a shady spot and had the following: Green papaya salad (bright flavors), pork, chicken and beef sates, fried bananas, fried sweet potates, chicken larb and boba. As mentioned in earlier posts it is impossible to spend $10 a piece here. Before we left we shared a sweet made of taro - flavor not unlike prune cake. Had a surprise element of shredded egg yolk on top.
This will be on all furture "tours" when we have visitors from out of state. I need to look at a map and figure where the heck we were though. Our GPS took us to the temple and it would be great to combine the visit with another activity in the area.
