A heartfelt (and tummyfelt) thanks...
To those who helpes an out of town hound eat well. I attended "Coffeefest" at the Seattle convention this past weekend. It was an interesting and educational event. But no one can run for 3 days on machiattos.
Friday night we enjoyed Cafe Campagne. Nothing cuts through the autumn cold and rain like cassoulet. I also enjoyed the house cured lamd tongue and celery root salad. The less adventurous eaters at the table got a little sqeamish. Their loss. Everyone enjoyed their meal. It took the rough edge off of a long day.
Saturday night my parents gave Chinooks a go. This place is a booder to, find. Ready for a laugh? If it weren't for a police escort we never would have found the place. After 2 calls to the restaraunt I was ready to give up. My father spied a police car and parked beside it. We asked the officer for dirrections. After a long moment of thinking he gave a soft shake of his head and said "just follow me". The tempura platter and the cobbler were worth the frustration.
I wish we had time to try more of the places you brother ansd sister hounds so graciously guided us to. If any of you are ever in Napa let me know. I will be only too happy to return the favor.
