Recent recommendations for Portugal

Nyleve | Mar 3, 201911:51 AM     16

We'll be in Portugal for a couple of weeks at the end of March/beginning of April. I have been busily scrawling a list of possible places to eat along our route but would love some more recommendations. We'll be in Lisbon, Porto, Peso da Regua, Monsanto and Sintra. Travelling by car so we are able to make worthwhile detours for good food. Much more interested in simple, fresh and and local food than upscale restaurants, to be honest. This isn't really a matter of cost so much as preference - we are all just basically peasants, I think.

In Lisbon I think we'll make an attempt at Ramiro, having heard so much about it. And I guess we'll stop into the Time Out market for a peek around. Definitely will go to Belem for natas. In Porto we have no real plans - someone mentioned Ze Bota and A Tasquinha. Anyone been? Or somewhere better? We'll be in Porto for 3 nights.

And we'll be spending 2 nights in Sintra so a recommendation for there would be great. The rest of the trip I think we'll play by ear. Will probably arrange to drive through Mealhada around lunchtime for some roast pork - but otherwise open to suggestions.

Thanks for any help.
