Recommendations for dinner, Wall Street & area

Any suggestions for places for my boss to take clients while visiting in NYC, staying/doing business in the Marriott Financial (West Street, which I think is also the West Side Highway). Walking distance would be good but having to cab it would be OK too. (She is not comfortable with the subways and although I am, I'm not going with her.) I heard good things about the hotel restaurant called (I think) 55 Wall, any advice? Or should they just go to Tribeca? On an unrelated matter, have you ever been burned by a recommendation you gave someone? I will admit my daughter and her husband are both chefs and people are always asking me for restaurant advice--then they come back and complain about stupid things, like they hated the maitre'd's accent! Or they gripe that it was expensive (hey, it's NY!), or the food was vertical and that somehow offends them.
