Recommendations between Cortina d'Ampezzo and Venice

We are driving from the Dolomites near Cortina d’Ampezzo to Venice and looking for recommendation of a place/town to stop somewhere between the two. Difficulty level – a Monday evening!

We are staying near Cortina on Sunday night and plan to do a short hike on Monday morning, then we are to arrive in Venice on Tuesday for a few days (see the Biennale, etc.) We have this one night w/out a solid destination and turning to Chowhound for your thoughts! Ideally we’d drive south to be a bit closer to Venice and find a place to have nice meal and then a hotel near by. Now i’m having trouble finding a the right location which is also open on Monday (we cannot extend our stay at the hotel on Sunday – already checked).

I thought about Belluno but it really doesn’t seem that interesting. Or, am I mistaken? The other issues is that in doing some research, almost every restaurant in the vicinity of Belluno listed in the Osterie guide and or SlowFood guide is closed on Monday! Then saw mention of Asolo here on CH boards and read about Locanda Baggio in Asolo, but also closed Monday!

We found Locanda San Lorenzo in Alpago and Locanda Solanga in Vas so these are two choices. Also found a recommendation for Osteria Maddonetta in Marostica, so another option there. However, any further recommendations would be appreciated
