I need help with some recipe clarification

I have found a recipe for clams steamed in white wine. Here is the link:

My uncertainty is in the amount of wine to use. It calls for a bottle of wine, but that seems like a lot. Also, if the recipe does call for the entire bottle, what size do I want? Thanks for any thoughts or ideas!
