This has to be one of the tastier drinks I've invented.
1oz dark rum
1/2oz ginger syrup
1 1/2oz triple sec
1/2 lemon juice
1/4 cup cantaloupe juice
Equipment:
Knife
Cutting board
Food processor
Mesh strainer
Bowl cocktail shaker
Chop up and deseed one small cantaloupe
Place in food processor purée until it is a liquid. Pour liquid in fine mesh strainer stain until all the juice is separated from the pulp. Discard the pulp. In a cocktail shaker add ice, dark rum, Ginger syrup, triple sec, lemon juice, and cantaloupe juice. Shake vigorously for a minute. Pour into tall glass and garnish with a melon slice.
